Annual transaction volume of credit cards and debit cards in Norway 2010-2020
In total, there were about 2.5 billion payment card transactions made in Norway in 2020. Among them, the majority were made with cards with a debit function, amounting to around 2.2 billion. Credit cards was the second most common type of payment cards, but was far as common as debit cards, by only 264.3 million transactions.
